Overview

We provide specialist advice and support relating to highways, traffic, travel and planning to both public and private sectors.


We provide Local Authorities with specialist support in such areas as Development Management, S38 / S278 Technical Assessments, approvals, and site inspections as well as Transport Strategy & Policy including DfT funding bid support, business cases and developing evidence to support local plans and policies.

How we can help Local Authorities

  • Highway Development Control: Major and minor applications
  • Attendance at planning committee
  • Attendance at Council, Ward, Parish and other public meetings
  • Highway Act S38, S278 and S184: Technical Approvals, Bond calculations, pre-start meetings, site inspection, remedial lists, provisional and final certificates, etc.
  • Advice regarding Advanced Payment Codes
  • Master-planning: Highway infrastructure, developer contributions, sustainable transport (walking, cycling, public transport)
  • Negotiations with developers, agents, etc.

  • Transport Modelling and interpretation of subsequent data

  • Planning Appeals: Support and attendance at Inquiry
  • Compulsory Purchase Orders: Support and attendance at Inquiry
  • Good Practice Guides including Design Guides, Car Parking Provision Studies, Residential Car Parking (DCLG method), Standard Conditions, Standing Advice, Sustainable Drainage (SUDS), Advance Payment Code, S38 & S278, Travel Plans
  • AutoCAD support for various schemes including School Safety, Speed reduction, Traffic Regulation Orders (TRO), signs & lines, drawing for use in consultations, etc.
  • DfT, DEFRA and European (ERDF) funding applications: Lead consultant on many successful local authority funding applications including Local Pinch Point Fund, National Productivity Investment Fund and Transforming Cities Fund. Currently awaiting feedback on the Levelling Up Fund application.

Transport Modelling Advice & Analysis

We advise on all aspects of traffic modelling including the preparation of briefs and data analysis. This information can be used to provide an evidence base for; Local Development Plans, Growth Infrastructure Assessments, Community Infrastructure Levy, Local Transport Plans, Local Development Frameworks, Strategic Economic Plans and large development sites.
